SURVEYS

The last days we made our survey of our three propousals of the car models. we apply five questions for each car. Te ten questions were:

1. You think that this car is more adapted for:

a) City b) stand out(camp) c) careers(races) of cars

2. Which would be the best description for this car?

a) Elegant and sophisticated b) juvenile and sports c) common and basic

3. What would you prefer for the car?

a) Coupé b) Convertible

4. What do you think the design look like?

a) Modern b) got out of date c) modern but retro

5.- 5. You think that it is more adapted for:

a) Woman b) man

The results of the survey are shown in the pictures at the top. I depends of each propousal.

Reflection April 1

This sesion was one of the most interesting because we made our Termoformado with our cars. I thought that it was going to take more time but at the end it tood only 15 minutes. We had to "lijar" our cars and after that we made a holes around the car in order to get the propertly geometry. Now we have to pint our cars and make a survey in order to choose the best model.

Reflection march 25th

In this week we started to use the Z print 2.6. We got some instructions that are necesary to use the printer. For example, at the begining we have to select the units we want to work with. As weel as we have to justify our file, this mean if we want to transform, justify, or leave the model back at the bottom. Before to send the work we have to select the printer, that printer is called Zprinter310offline. In the evaluation process if suddenly appear some triangles in black means that there will be problems. Also we can get a print time estimated. In the machine that is in the room upstairs I could se that glue is in the tank at the top. An for the correct use of the machine and for get a good work we have to use others instruments like filter, hoover, resina and hardener.

Reflection March 18th 2009

The last sesion we set up our machining with the Modela Player Machine. Firtable we placed in the same file the three different proposals, one mine, brenda's and Paola's. it is essential to do that because with that file we will be able to work with the machining and with this file also we are going to be able to set up all the parameters for the exercise. The three cars were joined in the same file in Rheno, after that they were exported to STL files and then they were validated with VizCam View.

Here we start to set up the configurations of our machining. As you can see the three propousals are now in the same file. we have to be careful because our car´s size are ver small compared with the others. So that was the reason that we have to select a especific tool to make the machining.

Everything is ready to do the machining. As I said before we chose a 6 in tool because it is a small car and also because one of the cars has a different depth in the middle. We made the machining the last friday and everything ran with no problem.

Reflection 8th week

In this session we used the cnc machine. We got some advices how to use it, and some instructions for the propertly functioning of the machine. Before starting to use it, it is important to calibrate and try to find the center of the object. Also it is important set the machine in the correct way fitting the screws.

Cars proposal

In this proposal I added a roof. it was difficult because i couldn't make it as i wanted, but i tried to put a different design of roof.


I modified the rear of the car, exactly at the end. I cut some material as is shown in the picture. Before that the rear had the same shape, i mean a straight line, now is a curve line.



IN this proposal I put a elevation in the surface, exactly behind the passengers seat. It is difficult to view in this picture but it is easier to see the change in the STL file.

It was an interesting experince try to use the RHINO but at the same time was something difficult because I had never used it and I don´t have any knwoledge in any software of design.

Reflection 7th week

In this week we learned to use a software called MODELa PLAYER 4 that is used for aplications like CNC, Wheel and finishing. It is going to be a powerfull tool for our prototype because with this software we're gonna be able to modify the geometric of our car. This software has many steps in which we can find several options and several aplications according to what we want to get. We can choose the type of tool that we want to use. We are still working on our car and trying to make three differents offers for the next week.
